I’m glad I’m reading this with the biggest spoiler alert of them all (you lived!) because dang that sounds scary. I am reassured to know that in every house there is a cat ready to help in emergencies.

Sable’s idea of help is to help eat food off your plate

So she is sacrificing herself for your health?

Yes exactly that haha. Here she is doing her tv exercises

Rescued her at 8 years old (we think the owners died and she was given over to a kennel). Best kitty.

Bahahaha no just prepping for her summer coat (don’t want to risk being too cold)

I will definitely be living in the alternative reality where Kamala is president 😄 I'm so sorry you went through this! I cannot imagine how scary this must have been. Hope you're on the mend!🩵 Great drawings in this post too!

hey thanks for following and enjoyed your artwork! It was pretty scary and yes I have a clean bill of health. I do still get panic attacks and they feel like a heart attack but I have the knowledge to know the difference now.

Great article, Thig. I am so glad you are still here with us, and THANK YOU, HEATHER!

Also, I learned something new. I am adding "Try living in an alternate reality where Kamala is president" to my health and wellness checklist.

I got Heather an award and made this big huge presentation like she was on the Oscar’s (all at the house. The pets were nominated and we had Google announce the winner)

Some of us take longer to know who we are and find who we should be with (based on earlier in life programming.)

Yikes! OK first, your illustrations! 😂 and I haven't thought about Dexter in ages! It's weird when we're doing the right things (exercise) and our body goes sideways anyway. Really glad you got checked out before you checked out. I just finished a full cardio workup a couple months ago because I was having shoulder pain and getting lightheaded. I also get panic attacks for no reason and with no warning, and it's hard to tell which is which! It's always better to be safe and get checked out until you really have a handle on what panic attacks look like for you. Sounds like your partner in crime (and cat!) has a good handle on things!

Spouse experienced frequent 'heartburn' after Saturday lunches and when we hiked weekends. Ignored his incredibly high cholesterol for years because the meds were expensive. Fast forward to he's being prepped for a heart stent when the Doctor says, oh no, far too advanced for a stent; proceed directly to bypass surgery. Take your cholesterol meds and pay attention to your body.

Sable reminds me a lot of my cat. 180 pounds if he's an ounce, and his favourite place to lie is on my stomach. I notice the sloth didn't get the heart attack; the fitness nut did. Hmm. Maybe there's a moral here. Seriously, you're lucky to have such a sensible wife.

Yeah Heather eats bad and is tiny + healthy. Me? I did all the fitness things and have been a raw vegan before and drop. Ha. Irony

Omg how cute is Sable? And 😭😭😭 re the heart attack. I never had full abs but sort of a bit of upper abs but also I like to have a life and sloth suits me better. 🤣 So hard relate! I do walk (rather slowly) on my treadmill desk because of course some exercise is meant to be good for us—although there seems to be no rhyme or reason to when people die (being all morbid but I’ve seen “healthy” people die young and more “indulgent” people die old). Thankfully, you didn’t go into the die young camp. 😅🫶🏻

Your story reminds me of how I went for the better part of a week with numbness and tingling in my entire right side... all due to knocking my neck out of whack because I tried to sleep.

Heart attacks and/or strokes concern me the most, probably due in no small part to my girth, high bp, family history, etc etc.

Glad you're still alive and kicking (well kicking keyboard keys at least). You wouldn't be able to finish Witcher otherwise!

Good piece! My dad had a "silent" heart attack; he just felt some strange fluttering in his chest, and noticed he got winded quite fast. Doctor sent him straight to the hospital; he got a quintuple-bypass a week later. That was twelve years ago. He turned a healthy eighty last week.
